Person-Centred Counselling
Person-Centred Counselling is based on the belief that each of us has the capacity to grow, heal, and find our own way forward when we are offered the right conditions. Rather than being told what to do or given advice, you are offered a safe, accepting, and confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
As your counsellor, my role is to listen with empathy, openness, and without judgement. I aim to understand your experience from your perspective, rather than making assumptions or telling you how you should feel. I believe that when we feel genuinely heard and accepted, we become better able to understand ourselves, make sense of our experiences, and discover our own way forward.
Many of us develop ways of coping that once helped us through difficult experiences but may no longer serve us. Together, we can gently explore these patterns, helping you gain greater self-awareness, reconnect with your own needs and values, and make choices that feel more authentic and meaningful.
Person-Centred Counselling is a collaborative process. You are the expert on your own life, and I trust in your ability to find your own answers. My role is to walk alongside you, offering support, understanding, and a therapeutic relationship where you feel accepted as you are.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, Person-Centred Counselling provides a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgement, explore what matters most to you, and move towards a greater sense of wellbeing and fulfilment.
About Ollie
Hello, I'm Ollie, a qualified Person‑Centred Counsellor offering a warm, accepting, and confidential space where you can explore whatever feels important to you, at your own pace. I believe that real change happens when we feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgement. Person-Centred Counselling is a collaborative process. You bring your own lived experience, and I trust in your ability to make sense of what you are going through. My role is to provide a supportive, accepting relationship where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely.
My foundation is Person-Centred, and I work integratively, bringing in additional therapeutic perspectives when they can deepen or support your process. These approaches can help us gently explore how past experiences and relational patterns continue to influence your life now, in a way that increases understanding, emotional clarity, and freedom to choose new ways of being.
I have experience supporting adults with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self‑esteem, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, workplace issues, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, people‑pleasing, and the lasting effects of difficult childhood experiences. Many of the people I work with feel stuck, disconnected from themselves, or find it hard to prioritise their own needs.
I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have been counselling clients since 2023. I am currently studying CPCAB Level 5 in Psychotherapeutic Counselling to deepen my practice. Alongside my private work, I bring over 20 years’ experience supporting people through housing and homelessness services, and I have previously worked as a youth worker and support worker, supporting individuals with a wide range of mental health difficulties.
I understand that beginning counselling can feel daunting, especially if you’ve never spoken to someone before. My aim is to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself, explore openly, and develop a stronger sense of self‑acceptance and confidence. Whatever brings you here, we will work collaboratively at a pace that feels right for you.
